Samantha is a Senior Legal Studies and Anthropology dual major at UMass Amherst who got involved with World Librarians through her work in the Libraries. With a passion for all things Open Access, she hopes to continue this work by pursuing her Master’s in Library Science after graduating in the spring of 2024. When not in the library or reading a good book, she likes to spend her free time playing music with friends.
Sravya is a junior Environmental Science and Resource Economics student, and she started out with World Librarians in the Fall of 2022 completing searches. Now, she is on board the World Librarians Team with goals of expanding World Librarians more as an Registered Student Organization.
As the Open Education Librarian, Theresa Dooley uses her expertise in open licensing and pedagogy to provide affordable access to quality information for students at UMass Amherst and around the world.
Charlie is a professor with the Department of Environmental Conservation and the School of Public Policy at UMass Amherst. After researching open source software communities for nearly two decades, he cofounded the World Librarian project with Carl Meyer (ShiftIt). The most important part of the mission in Schweik’s view is to provide a “mechanism for the people in the global south to request information that they want, not what we, the global north, think they want.”
